TARGET AUDIENCE

The target audience for our music video will be Indie teenagers, this is because with the rise of the genre of Indie rock in recent years we think this will be a genre which will target a lot of people, because it is so popular now. Most people believe that indie teenagers are people who go out of their way to be miserable and avoid listening to the top pop charts at any cost. This is in fact untrue, indie teenagers mostly tend to be quite shy individuals who just enjoy listening to indie rock and alternative music, because this is their chosen favourite genre of music.

MALE INDIE TEENAGERS

Indie boys tend to have their own style and tend to wear skinny jeans with jumpers or t-shirts of their choosing. Most of the time these jumpers and tops feature pictures or logos for their favourite bands. They also tend to forgot to brush their hair as they prefer to leave it in the style they wake up with or they are the complete opposite and perfect and slick their hair back, adding even more on an edgy look. They also enjoy baggy denim jackets, knackered converse and slits in their eyebrows, along with the addictive habit of smoking. The most commonly occuring colour for the clothing is black, with marroon and other dark colours, with a running theme of tartan/checkered clothing.

FEMALE INDIE TEENAGERS

Indie girls do not seperate a lot from indie boys as the style is bascially the same, they wear a lot of the colour black, logo t-shits,checkered

 tartan shirts, trainers and converse. They also tend to have their hair looking quite messy as they go for wavy hair of any colour. They also tend to wear leather jackets and other leather pieces of clothing to fit in the genre. The makeup they wear is quite dark, especially their lip colour.

UK TRIBES

"Influenced by using ‘music as a fashion accessory’ this Tribe are motivated by being ahead of the curve (and their rival Leading Edge Tribes) on all the latest trends. In authentic Indie Scenester spirit they have a tendency to follow only a handful of bands at once. They enjoy mainstream festivals, but opt for smaller gigs (mud baths) rather than those offering VIP tickets and hair straightening facilities"

QUESTIONNAIRE RESULTS

 

We created a quesstionnaire and asked 20 people how much time over a week they spend using each of the things shown. We made them give an answer out of 10 and then we worked out the median from their answers and plotted it on the graph shown. The people that we asked all fell under our interpretation of an indie rock fan. This was due to their appearance and music choice. As you can see in general our targt market are big internet users and radio listeners, but not so fussed on newspapers and going to the cinema.
