GREEN SCREEN

Example of a Green Screen

What is a Green Screen?

(in film and video techniques such as chromakey) a green background in front of which moving subjects are filmed and which allows a separately filmed background to be added to the final image.

They are used for many different things to project a digital image behind a person. This saves money if you needed a certain background for a scene.

How to make a green screen

Firstly, you have to film on an all green background, preferably using a green screen sheet-it has to be as big as the background that you want to use.

You have to type in 'ultra key' in effects and then edit your video in effects controls. All I had to do was use the paint picker tool to select the green background that I wanted to illiminate and then i used the tools 'choke' and 'soften' to edit my shot frther to make sure all of the green was covered even when my model moved. I then slected a background for my video and placed in under my 'video 1', this made the image appear behind my model making my green screen successful.
